These stunning penguin sculptures are part of Ottmar Horl's 'the exposed animals' collection of 2006.
The black penguin measures 54 x 23 x 20 cm and the white penguin measures 56 x 23 x 20 cm - they look pretty spectacular where ever they are placed in a home but ours seem happiest on our fireplace mantel. The irony is not lost on us.
Ottmar Hörl is a renowned German artist, most known for his striking installations which take place in various public environments. He studied at the "Städelschule" in Frankfurt and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf. Since 2005 Hörl has been the president of the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg.
These pieces are weather-resistant, shatter-proof, are made of non-toxic free plastic rotational molding and have been made in Germany.
