Meat Ship Art Print

€34.00

This art print by Scottish artist Daniel Seex features a scene from a sort of Ballardesque fantasy adventure thing - this being the sunken ship. The sunken ship's got the lighthouse still trying to signal danger even though it's too late, the old man of the sea looks over his failure to save them (or is he savouring his success at destroying them?) and the remnants of the ship sinking forever through this weird bubble/stone of ocean. The "stone" they all stand on is made by inking and printing roast pork.

Yes you read that correctly, roast pork and paint.

Daniel works primarily in pen and ink adding colour and texture digitally and often building a picture from multiple works. This allows his work to have a flexibility that is useful when it come to illustration. He has a taste for surrealism and deadpan humour and would cite contemporary illustrators such as Tom Gould, Jon Klasson and Yuko Shimizu  as his major influences. He currently lives in Edinburgh with his partner Julia. When he’s not drawing on something Daniel is interested in trivia, vexillology (that’s flag geekery), history, chemistry and sharks.

This super quality print and is printed on to 260 - 350 gm, hammered art paper and is A3 in size
